The seasons’ alternation tunes us with the rhythm with which nature renews itself continuously and cyclically. The human body changes continuously and cyclically, naturally following the alternation of the seasons. With YA.BE’s mindful beauty approach, we then explore what happens to our skin in autumn and what are the energies that characterize this season.

Change of season and mindful beauty

From the point of view of the cyclic rhythm of nature and the alternation of energies connected to it, autumn comes after the blaze of fruit ripening in the summer and is the time of the year in which we activate our new growth cycle. In this season we can recognize abundance as a natural state, this is in fact the harvest season. Autumn represents a great time of regeneration and a period in which to let go of what has completed and exhausted its cycle and renew itself. Our body and our skin also enter a phase of rest, in fact with the drop in temperatures what happens is a lowering of blood pressure and therefore a lower oxygenation of the tissues, the vital energy is lowered and so also the the body’s defenses decrease. So, let’s help our skin to protect itself anticipating the symptoms related to this natural phase of rest. Reduced hydration and decreased defenses facilitate exposure to phenomena such as cracking and skin fragility. We can then cope with this symptom by using only natural products both for our face and body, body oils that facilitate the rebalancing, nourishment and elasticity of the skin. Furthermore, the skin dries up more quickly because the sebaceous glands reduce their functioning and also the skin fat is no longer able to maintain the natural protective film of the skin, because of the drop in temperatures, it is then time to re-insert richer and more nutritious products in our skincare routine and to give ample space to hydration even in the cleansing step.

The autumn skincare routine

Given the natural change on our skin following the change of season, let’s now see what to care more to in our skincare routine for this autumn season. First, choose products for cleansing that also have a moisturizing action.
