If we look up in the dictionary the meaning of the word perfect we find: “having all the required or desirable elements, qualities, or characteristics; as good as it is possible to be” or “make (something) completely free from faults or defects; make as good as possible”.
So…. we are perfect when we are as good as possible, when we treat ourselves at the best…. No outer comparison, just an inner one. And… this is a revolution!
Perfect skin – WHAT
To make anything as good as possible the first step is always understanding how that thing is. And this applies also to your skin!
How is your skin? Thick? Thin? Dull? Hydrated? Or not?
Perfect in the meaning of as good as possible is not a unilateral definition of hao a skin has to be but is a definition that starts and ends on your specific skin.
So, let’s start to familiarize with your skin, feel it, touch it during your skincare routine, feel the pleasure of touching your skin. Your skin, remember, is the largest organ we have and it is estimated it’s overall weight is around 4 kilos. Spend time to look at it, love it, talk to it and ask it what does it need. If you feel there is a problem or something to improve on your skin, please do not judge neither punish your skin with too much exfoliation or too much peeling or too much acids …. But take the opportunity to love it and treat it with awareness.
Perfect skin – HOW
If you start from awareness and you treat your skin to unleash its beauty, its light, its potential your inner savvy will tell you what to do and you cannot be wrong. In any case we just remind you a few elements which are precious skin savers:
- Do not smoke – Smoking makes your skin look older and contributes to wrinkles. Smoking narrows the tiny blood vessels in the outermost layers of skin, which decreases blood flow and makes skin paler. This also depletes the skin of oxygen and nutrients that are important to skin health. Smoking also damages collagen and elastin — the fibers that give your skin strength and elasticity.
- Protect yourself from the sun – a lifetime of sun exposure can cause wrinkles, age spots and other skin problems, so protecting the skin from sun is a real must.
- Eat a healthy diet – a healthy diet can help you look and feel your best. Eat plenty of fruits, vegetables, whole grains and lean proteins. The association between diet and acne isn’t clear — but some research suggests that a diet rich in fish oil or fish oil supplements and low in unhealthy fats and processed or refined carbohydrates might promote younger looking skin. Drinking plenty of water helps keep your skin hydrated.
- Manage stress – uncontrolled stress can make your skin more sensitive and trigger acne breakouts and other skin problems. To encourage healthy skin — and a healthy state of mind — take steps to manage your stress. Get enough sleep, set reasonable limits, scale back your to-do list and make time to do the things you enjoy. The results might be more dramatic than you expect.
